Last month saw our second month long remedial school. The program is aimed at the weakest students in the local grade school. Many in the upper grades are still having trouble with the alphabet. Our teaching is aimed at helping the students read and write basic Swahili.

Our first program took place last June and was taught by Lenkangu, a young

man that is now a second year student in Teacher Training College, and Fabi, a young woman who has just finished Form IV and will begin Form V in July. The remedial program was a great success and greatly appreciated by the students and their parents. It is amazing how much progress a child can achieve with some weeks of very concentrated work.
